Kylie Myers is a sophomore at Ball State University, majoring in advertising with a concentration in public relations and a minor in entrepreneurial management. Before deciding what she wanted to do after high school, she took several personality tests and evaluated her interests and goals in life. “I did these things to make sure that I chose the best path for myself whether that be start looking for a career or continue my schooling.” She said. “I came to the conclusion that I want to have a career that allows me to be creative, work remotely so I can travel, and still interact with people daily. I decided I wanted to major in advertising or public relations. Ball State was one of the only schools I applied to and my number one choice because it had the major I wanted.”
When Kylie first enrolled at Ball State, she didn’t plan on joining Greek Life. However, her best friend from high school also came to Ball State and encouraged her to try going through recruitment. “I loved AOII throughout the recruitment process and was very excited when I got my bid from them. Every day since I got my bid my love and appreciation for AOII has continued to grow. I am thankful to be surrounded by women who continue to see a light in me when I sometimes can’t and inspire so much ambition in my life. They have trusted me with holding 2 different leadership positions during my time as a member and I have loved every second of them! My college experience wouldn’t be the same without this sisterhood!” Kylie said.
Kylie is an incredibly active member of the Ball State community. She currently works within the Department of Journalism at Ball State within their Outreach & Engagement Office. Her freshman year she became a sister of Alpha Omicron Pi and was on the Merchandising team for BSUDM. Since then, she has held 2 positions while in AOII: social media chair and vice president of chapter development. This year as a sophomore she became Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) Sweetheart and the social media chair for HerCampus Magazine. Kylie says, “Having a job on campus and holding two social media positions on campus has helped me gain experience in my future job field. I am also thankful to be a member of and represent two amazing Greek Organizations on campus!!”
When asked about her favorite memories throughout her time in AOII, she said, “I have had many amazing memories during my time in AOII. My all-time favorite memories would be going through the big little process and getting my amazing big, then going through the process again and getting my sweet little! Another memory that is more recent is getting to hold my first sisterhood event as VPCD for our newest pledge class!”
A beautiful summary of a beautiful sister!! :)
