A new year, a new Leaders’ Council. The ladies of Kappa Kappa continue to inspire ambition by preparing the chapter for another successful year.

On Sunday, January 13th, LC met together to bond and vision cast for the next year of Alpha Omicron Pi at Ball State. In order to get a better idea of where our chapter is headed, I asked a sampling of women in newly appointed vice president positions to share their visions for the upcoming year.

Ruth Hodorowicz, Kappa Kappa’s VP of Academic Development, is prepared to bring out the best in one of Alpha Omicron Pi’s core values: Scholarship.

She explained, “I want to see our chapter not necessarily improve, but expand upon our achievements. We’ve had the highest GPA on campus for a while and I would like to see that continue.”

Ruth is determined to help our sisters succeed in their academics by hosting more academia-related events. She and our VP of Chapter Development, Kaylee Carter, have begun the planning of events involving both studying and relaxing in order to relieve stress throughout the school year.

Ruth is a vital part of helping us uphold the value of scholarship, as she will also meet with sisters who are struggling in their schoolwork.

“I would just like to see girls improving their GPA’s from last semester, especially if [they were] once on academic probation. I think it’s the little victories that have the best impact!” Ruth said.

As previously mentioned, Kaylee Carter, VP of Chapter Development, is also eager to bring new ideas to the chapter and her position. Kaylee is hoping to establish more consistent, weekly events in order to draw sisters closer together.

“I create the events, but the powerful, strong sisterhood is what makes them so special and impactful to Kappa Kappa,” said Kaylee. “These events create memories for a lifetime, unbreakable sisterhood, and a trusting support system.”

Emma Austin, VP of Communications, is ready to portray that “unbreakable sisterhood” through our social media outreach and public relations.

“My position gets to show the rest of the community what our chapter does. I want to work towards being portrayed as wonderful women who are ambitious and loyal to our campus and each other,” she said.

As one of her many goals for the year, Emma is excited to produce more video content. This is kicking off with a full Leaders’ Council video shoot. The video shoot is meant to introduce the chapter and our community to the next group of leaders rising out of Kappa Kappa.

LC is currently working on a new accreditation plan which will outline the goals we plan to achieve during our term. We are overjoyed for you to join with our mission of elevating the chapter to its highest point yet!
